Hygienist and Therapy Services
All of our patients are recommended to see our hygienists for regular scale and polish appointments. This is important to maintain a good level of oral health.
During hygienist visits teeth are cleaned to remove plaque and tartar around the gum line, enabling healthy gums and a good standard of oral health to be achieved. Hygienists are ideally placed to treat common oral problems such as tooth sensitivity and bleeding gums.
In addition we offer a comprehensive periodontal service for dealing with more complex gum problems such as gum disease. Although this condition may symptomless, some patients may notice bleeding gums, loosening teeth, bad breath and receding gums. This may be your main reason for visiting the dentist.
During your initial visit a comprehensive individual treatment plan will be drawn up and discussed with you. For more complex gum problems it is likely that several appointments will be needed. We aim to stabilise all gum problems before any cosmetic work can be undertaken. In our hygiene surgery you may be treated by Emma, Debbie or Sara.
Emma and Sara are both dual qualified Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists. Debbie is a qualified Dental Hygienist. As Dental Therapists Emma and Sara carry out a wide range of treatments including scale and polish, periodontal (gum disease) treatments, restorative treatments (fillings), cosmetic treatments (composite build ups), tooth whitening and childrens dental services.
