We are proud to offer an extremely high standard of cosmetic and restorative dentistry - in fact Dr Grundy has recently been shortlisted in the prestigious 2009 National Smile Awards for his cosmetic and restorative work.

What really makes us special, however, is our fundamental approach to dentistry.

We believe in the principles of "minimal intervention dentistry" whereby teeth are restored with the minimum degree of tooth preparation necessary in each individual case (ie minimal drilling away of tooth structure).

Traditional cosmetic and restorative work often involves the drilling away of healthy tooth structure to accomodate veneers, crowns and bridges.

Research has shown that this approach can increase the risk of complications such as toothaches and infections which, in turn, can lead to root canal work or even extractions.

Our teeth are precious  and, as life expectancy increases, it is vital that they are able to last the duration of our lives.

At Horwich Dental Care Centre we are pleased to offer minimally interventive techniques including bonded restorations which essentially break the  "restorative cycle" and allow teeth to survive for extended time periods.

In our experience not only can these treatments out perform other types of invasive treatment, they are less expensive and can usually be conveniently placed in a single visit as laboratory work is unnecessary.
